Therapy Services and Treatment Approach in Chalfont, PA

Effective psychotherapy needs both direction and flexibility.

A therapist should have the clinical knowledge necessary to understand what you are experiencing while remaining flexible enough to adapt treatment to you.

I provide individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy at my private practice in Chalfont, Pennsylvania.

My treatment approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness/meditation, psychoeducation, behavioral strategies, and other evidence-informed interventions.

The specific approach depends upon the person, the problem, and the goals of treatment.

Practical Solutions and Deeper Understanding

Therapy sometimes becomes falsely divided into two approaches.

One focuses entirely on coping skills. The other focuses entirely on understanding the past.

My approach can incorporate both.

You may need immediate strategies for managing a panic attack, organizing ADHD-related responsibilities, or stopping an argument from escalating.

You may also benefit from understanding the experiences and patterns that made those problems more likely in the first place.

The balance depends upon your circumstances.

 Services & Treatments Options

01

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy provides a private setting where you can speak openly about concerns affecting your life.

You may begin individual therapy because of a specific mental health diagnosis or because you are experiencing stress, relationship problems, emotional difficulty, or patterns you want to understand.

I provide individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.

Treatment may address anxiety, ADHD, addiction, anger, autism-related concerns, bipolar disorder, depression, panic, grief, relationship problems, parenting, work stress, or other difficulties.

02

COUPLES THERAPY

Relationships can become difficult even when both people genuinely care about one another.

Conflict may become repetitive. Communication breaks down. One person withdraws while the other pushes harder to resolve the issue. Resentment accumulates.

Couples therapy can help partners understand these cycles, communicate more effectively, and approach problems collaboratively.

03

FAMILY THERAPY

Families are interconnected systems.

When one person struggles, the effects frequently extend to everyone else.

Family therapy can address communication problems, parenting disagreements, behavioral concerns, conflict, emotional difficulties, major transitions, and other circumstances affecting the family.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL
THERAPY (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) explores how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another.

It is a practical and structured treatment approach that can help people identify patterns contributing to anxiety, anger, depression, addiction, and many other concerns.

I completed the University of Pennsylvania's Beck Initiative in 2011, further developing my training in evidence-based cognitive therapy.

 A Comprehensive Initial Evaluation

Treatment begins with understanding the concerns bringing you to therapy.

I considers symptoms, history, relationships, environmental stressors, strengths, previous treatment, goals, and other relevant factors.

From there, treatment can be tailored to your needs. The plan is not fixed permanently.

As therapy progresses, goals and interventions can be adjusted based upon what is working and what becomes clearer over time.
